Argentina’s security forces said they’re using AI to predict future crimes. It’s kinda like the movie “Minority Report” from 2002, where people connected to computers saw future crimes on screens before they happened.
The Argentine government set up a unit called Artificial Intelligence Applied to Security. This unit will use machine learning to look at past crimes and guess future ones. They’ll also check social media and use facial recognition to find suspects.
Officials said this new unit will use AI and other tech to spot crime trends and stop crimes before they happen.
But human rights groups are worried about this. Experts say this kind of unit could mess with people’s rights because mass surveillance can hurt freedom of speech.
