YouTube has added a new feature in their YouTube Ads Update 2024 that will increase the number of ads people see. Now, if you pause the video you’re watching, you might see an ad pop up on the screen.
YouTube, being the most popular video platform in the world, has started using this new ad system. Some users on platforms like Reddit and X (formerly known as Twitter) have shared that they are seeing ads when they pause a video.

How this new ad works is quite straightforward, if you are not subscribed to YouTube Premium, and if you pause a video while watching either on your computer or TV, the video shrinks and an ad appears beside it.
