Google EU fine overturned in a major court decision.
Okay, so Google got in trouble with the European Union a while back. The European Commission said Google wasn’t being fair to other companies that use its search bar. So they decided to punish Google by making them pay a big fine – $1.7 billion!
But guess what? The European Union has decided to let Google off the hook for now, meaning they don’t have to pay the fine anymore. However, it might not be the end of the story.
Now, there’s been a new update. Google appealed the decision, and it turns out they won! The EU General Court said that while some things were correct, not everything was looked at properly during the investigation. So, Google got out of this big case and avoided the fine.
But there’s still a problem. Just because Google won this time doesn’t mean the whole fight is over. The European Union (EU) could still take this case to their highest court if they want to. They haven’t decided yet, but someone from the EU said they’re looking at the decision and will decide what to do next.
As for Google, they haven’t really said much about it. The company seems to be waiting for the EU’s next move before making any statements.
