In fact, as per BBC, this win is monumental for Djokovic. Finding an Olympics gold has been on his to-do-list forever. It also means he has joined an elite group of tennis players to complete the Calendar Golden Slam – winning all four Grand Slam trophies plus Olympic gold.
The French Open and Wimbledon champion pushed Djokovic to score 7-6 (7/3) and 7-6 (9/2), increasing his number of Grand Slam crowns by up to 24.
It happened in the Roland Garros court and Djokovic made his best showing of the year, winning and even making a statement to the public.

For Djokovic, the win has that much more significance — he was dealing with a knee injury to his right leg which nearly jeopardized his ability to even participate in London.
After victory, Djokovic breaks down in tears. He embraced Alcaraz before sinking to his knees in tears and breaking into celebration with family and team.
It was working out well for him in his first Olympics and a shiny silver medal.
