Who is Nahid Rana?
Nahid Rana is now a total rockstar in cricket! He’s playing for Bangladesh against Pakistan and has taken some amazing wickets. He even did his best ever bowling spell, which shocked everyone! This is his first time taking 4 wickets in a Test match, and it’s a huge deal! Rana took the wickets of Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, and Abrar Ahmed, which was his first-ever four-wicket haul in Test cricket.
Nahid has dismissed Babar Azam twice in his series. He did so in the first test match as well!

#1 Nahid Rana is Just 21 Years Old
Nahid Rana is the youngest Test Team for Bangladesh. Just 21 years old, he was born in 2002. His birth place is named Chapai Nawabganj. People really started noticing him when he could absolutely fly them down at 140 kmph. He played his first Test match against Sri Lanka earlier this year.It went well, he took 5 wickets.
#2 Nahid Rana Took Mohammad Ashraful’s Wicket on His First-Class Debut
Mohammad Ashraful is a cricket legend in Bangladesh. He played a lot of games for his country – 61 big matches, 177 one-day matches, and 23 short matches. He was even good enough to play for a team in India called the Mumbai Indians.
Three years ago, Ashraful played for Barisal Division in the National Cricket League 2021 match against Rajshahi Division. Rana made his first-class debut for Rajshahi in that game and dismissed Ashraful for just one run in the second innings.
#3 Nahid Rana Has Played With Big Names Like Alex Hales and Wayne Parnell
At just 21, Rana has already played in two seasons of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He has appeared in five matches for the Khulna Tigers across these two seasons.

#4 Nahid is the First Bangladeshi Bowler to bowl at 150kmph in Test Cricket
Nahid Rana is a special bowler from Bangladesh. He’s only played a few games, but he’s already done something no one from his country has done before! He threw the ball really, really fast – 150kmph! – in a big game. This is a big deal because most bowlers from Bangladesh don’t throw that fast. But now, the Tigers have their own super-fast bowler.
#5 Nahid Rana Took Cricket Seriously Only at 18
This might surprise some fans, but Rana joined the Clemon Cricket Academy when he was 18. Nahid Rana only started playing cricket seriously three years ago, but now he’s already playing for Bangladesh’s Test team! A former player named Alamgir Kabir noticed how fast Rana could bowl and started coaching him. Even though Rana didn’t make it to the Under-19 World Cup team, he got to practice bowling against some of Bangladesh’s best players, like Najmul Hossain Shanto and Jahurul Islam. He impressed them and later earned an NCL deal.
