“Our coach (Vijay) gave me the name Gabbar from that moment. It became so popular that now cricket fans everywhere call me Gabbar,” he added.
Dhawan is the second-highest run-scorer ever in IPL history. On his retirement, the left-hander recorded a total of 6769 runs. Video. He announced his retirement through this video. He thanked everyone who had given him an opportunity to play for India. Tarak Sinha and Madan Sharma were his early and childhood coaches, but they also helped to shape his values and philosophy. His mates in the Indian team also received thanks, as did his family.
He captioned his post with:
“As I close this chapter of my cricketing journey, I carry with me countless memories and gratitude. Thank you for the love and support! Jai Hind!”
